A Downtown Pensacola Museum Day from Gulf Breeze: Historic Pensacola Village, the Pensacola Museum of Art and One Seven-Day Ticket

Gulf Breeze sits just across Pensacola Bay from downtown Pensacola, and many of the city’s best museums are within a few blocks of each other there. The University of West Florida Historic Trust runs most of them on a single admission ticket that is good for seven days, so one purchase can cover a rainy afternoon and a second visit later in the week. Here’s how to plan the day, with details taken from the museums’ own websites as of October 26, 2026.

Getting there from Gulf Breeze

Historic Pensacola’s directions page gives the route: take US 98 west through Gulf Breeze and over the Pensacola Bay Bridge, then exit left onto Bayfront Parkway. Follow Bayfront to Tarragona Street, turn right, go north two blocks to Church Street and turn left. There is a paid lot on the right, plus two-hour street parking. The museums don’t have dedicated parking, so follow the posted signs in the all-day lots.

Recovery from Hurricane Isaias is still under way in the region, so check FL511 for bridge and road conditions before you leave.

One ticket, several museums

According to the Historic Trust, one admission covers the Pensacola Museum of Art, the Pensacola Museum of History, the Pensacola Children’s Museum and the museums of Historic Pensacola Village. It’s valid for seven days from the date you first show it at a service desk. Posted prices:

  • Adults: $12
  • Seniors 65+, AAA members and military and dependents: $11 (show supporting ID)
  • Children 3–14: $7
  • Children under 3, members and UWF students: free

The Pensacola Museum of Art also lists free admission with a SNAP/EBT card and ID. You can buy tickets online or at a service desk: the Tivoli High House Shop, the Children’s Museum, the Museum of History or the Museum of Art.

Hours

Historic Pensacola lists Tuesday–Saturday hours of 10 a.m.–4 p.m., and the museums are closed Mondays. On Sundays, only the Pensacola Museum of History, the Children’s Museum and the Museum of Art are open, from noon to 4 p.m. There’s a Sunday-only half-price online ticket (the site lists the discount code ONSUNHALF).

Guided Historic House Tours are included with admission. They run Tuesday through Saturday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., and visit the Lavalle House, Old Christ Church, the Dorr House and the Lear/Rocheblave House.

Upcoming closures

The Historic Trust has posted these closures for the rest of the fall:

  • Thursday–Saturday, November 5–7: the self-guided museums and guided tours in Historic Pensacola Village close for the Great Gulf Coast Arts Festival. The other museums stay open.
  • Wednesday, November 11: all Historic Trust museums and sites close for Veterans Day.
  • Thursday–Friday, November 26–27: all Historic Trust museums and sites close for Thanksgiving.

The Pensacola Museum of Art also lists holiday closures on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

What to see

Pensacola Museum of History (Church Street): its current exhibit, “Road to Revolution,” opened May 9 for the 250th anniversary of the American War for Independence. It looks at how Pensacola helped shape the outcome of the Revolution and includes an original proclamation from King George III and a British officer’s sword.

Historic Pensacola Village (330 South Jefferson Street): museums and historic houses in the heart of downtown. Join one of the included house tours, then explore the grounds. The village’s storytelling garden marks the boundary of the First Spanish period fort.

Pensacola Museum of Art (407 S. Jefferson Street, at Main and Jefferson across from Pensacola Little Theatre): rotating exhibitions, classes and artist talks. It has paid parking through Premium Parking, free two-hour street parking on Zaragoza, Jefferson, Main and Palafox streets, and accessible parking on the north side next to the accessible entrance. Phone (850) 432-6247.

Pensacola Children’s Museum: included in the same ticket and open on Sundays, so it works well for families with younger kids.

Add-on: the National Naval Aviation Museum

If you have a second day, the National Naval Aviation Museum aboard NAS Pensacola has free admission and lists hours of 9 a.m.–4 p.m., seven days a week. Its current base-access guidance:

  • Public access is seven days a week, 9 a.m.–3 p.m., through the West Gate at the south end of Blue Angel Parkway.
  • U.S. citizens 18 and older, including drivers, need a REAL ID or a valid U.S. passport.
  • Foreign nationals must be escorted by a U.S. citizen driving the same vehicle.
  • Vehicles and people are subject to search, and people with felony convictions can’t enter the base.
  • The museum is cashless and has a clear-bag policy.

Visit Pensacola’s storm-update FAQ also says the West Gate is open for public visits daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Base access can change on short notice, so check the museum’s visitor page the morning you go.

Quick checklist

  • Go Tuesday–Saturday if you want Historic Pensacola Village and the guided house tours. On Sundays, only three museums are open, from noon to 4 p.m.
  • Keep your receipt. The ticket covers seven days.
  • Avoid November 5–7, 11 and 26–27 if the Village is your priority.
  • Bring a REAL ID or passport if you add the Naval Aviation Museum, and get to the West Gate before 3 p.m.
