Gulf Breeze divers only need to cross the Pensacola Beach bridge for one of the area’s odder fall traditions. At the 37th Annual Charity Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest, dive buddies carve pumpkins underwater at Park West on the sound side. Registration and safety checks start at noon, and carving starts at 1 p.m. with a one-hour limit. The BBQ, costume party, awards and raffle follow at 6 p.m. at Dive Pros.
The listing gives the team entry as $50, which includes 20 raffle tickets. Extra raffle tickets are $1, and non-divers can buy them too. Proceeds support Favor House of Northwest Florida. Divers should confirm requirements with the organizer before the day.
