The national tour of Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol retells Dickens’ story in 1930s East Tennessee, with Ebenezer Scrooge as the owner of a mining company town. Music and lyrics are by Dolly Parton, and the book is by David H. Bell. The Saenger recommends it for ages 8 and up.
