Pensacola Opera stages Donizetti’s comic opera The Elixir of Love, the story of a lovesick villager who spends his money on a “magic” potion from a traveling salesman. It’s sung in Italian with English supertitles.
The cast includes Randy Ho as Nemorino, Helen Zhibing Huang as Adina, Matthew Burns as Dulcamara, Luis Alejandro Orozco as Belcore and Chase Sanders as Giannetta. Cody Martin conducts and Eve Summer directs.
The opera says street parking and a garage on Jefferson Street are nearby, and downtown parking is free on Sundays, which makes the matinee an easy trip over the bridge from Gulf Breeze.
Check before you cross the bridge: Pensacola Opera’s event page showed this date as scheduled when we checked on October 30, 2026, twenty-one days after Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin on October 9. Recovery is still under way around Pensacola Bay, so confirm with the organizer and check FL511 for road conditions before you go.
